I raced the Pro1/2 TT and it was HOT. After a week of not riding the bike because of a stupid cold I decided to race anyhow. I was up in the air because I was still not feeling that well, but I was itching to get out for a ride. I had a very light warm up because it was so stinking hot and again I was not feeling well. I decided to try and just pace myself well and not kill myself. I settled in and just paced it well not really pushing it to the limit. A TT at this length has me always well into the “pain cave” early and for most of the TT. This run didn’t really hurt, so that either means that I did not go hard enough or I am getting fitter. Anyhow, I took 4th with a time of 18:22 about 40 seconds off my goal - OUCH!

The Human Zoom/PBR/Lanmark Cat 2 squad was off to Lititz for another race. Pre race, Rich Straub was in first place overall for the State of PA racing series. So the goal was to race as always, aggressive and smart, and try to get Rich as many points as possible. As the field started to line up after much confusion on start time due to inclement weather, it started to look like this was going to be a good race with alot of strong teams and riders present. Of course it had rained hard and was still raining on and off. It was nice and fast to start and eventually a group of seven got up the road. 3 PA Lighting boys, Fordifuta rider, Alliance Env., PA Cancer Instituent, HZ/PBR/Lanmark and a few others. This was it, enough teams were represented and the big squards had riders in the break so things in the field settled, sort of. Since I was in the break I can only speak from the words of my teamates, who are pure studs to keep the field at bay.
Well it was fun and with a few laps to go 2 from the break escape up the road and stay away for 1st and 2nd. With 1 K to go, Rich Straub and approx. 5 guys catch chase group (what was left of the break) and Rich launches to take 3rd, I finish in 8th and Steve Blackman solos in for 12th.
Thanks to the team, all the guys fired like a smooth running V8. What a great group of teamates i have. These race results cant be done with out great teamates, and great sponsers like Cannondale, Bontrager, and the rest of our sponsers.
Thanks,
Keith
