The 3rd stage of the Giro di Jersey was pretty hard.  The course is a 2.5 mile circuit that felt uphill the whole time,  even the downhills felt uphill.  After yesterdays 70+ miles and the TT on Friday my legs were definitely feeling it.  The CGP course was one of those courses where you really need to put down power the whole time. We raced for 28 miles,  12 laps.  Rite Aid and Empire were set to battle it out for the Pink Jersey,  I was just in it to survive today.  My placing on GC went up to 18th after yesterday 16th place finish in the Rocky Hill RR stage which I feel pretty good about.  I rode pretty conservative today, never really seeing the front of the race and basically sitting in the middle of the field for most of the race.  It was pretty much single file the whole time and that started to wear on me with 3 laps to race.  I was getting nervous that I was going to crack but luckily I didn’t,  Steve gave me a little push to get up going - literally.

The field crack in 2 with a few to go and that is how it remained till the end,  I think the main group caught the tail end of the “break” at the line.  Today hurt bad,  but I am stoked to have finished all 3 stages and even felt as if I could have been a little more active and for sure had some left in the tank.  Would have sweet to have a team there,  we could have mixed it up pretty good.  Till next year,  I will go back,  it was a really good stage race.
